Equal Opportunities Policy

Gladedale recognises the value of individual and cultural diversity and the qualities that each employee brings to its business. We are committed to treating our staff with dignity and respect and we seek to provide equal opportunities to our people at all stages of their employment within a positive, productive and supportive working environment opposed to any form of discrimination.

Our policy on equal opportunity prohibits discrimination. We will develop and apply procedures and practices which provide equality of opportunity for all individuals employed on the basis of their abilities and skills and which do not discriminate on the grounds of sex, gender re-assignment, race, marital status, ethnic or national origin, nationality, colour, religion or belief, age, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, trade union membership, or the part-time, fixed-term employment.

This policy also applies equally to the treatment of job applicants, our visitors, clients, customers, agency staff and contractor operatives and workers. As part of our wider social and corporate responsibility all Gladedale employees have an obligation to be sensitive about the impact they have on others and behave in a way that supports, champions and upholds our approach to dignity at work and equal opportunities.

We will not tolerate racial, sexual, physical, mental harassment or bullying or victimisation in the working environment, or at functions connected with the workplace. Behaviour in contravention of our policy is not accepted and all complaints will be treated seriously and will be subject to proper investigation in accordance with the relevant procedure.

We expect that any employee found to be responsible for inciting, perpetrating or condoning discriminatory behaviour, harassment, bullying or victimisation will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
