Our History

Established in 1990, Country & Metropolitan Homes is the youngest company in the Gladedale Group. The company has a proven track record in the restoration of heritage projects, and incorporates good contemporary design and sustainability as key principles throughout its projects. 

All Country & Metropolitan developments are carefully designed to respect the local environment, and offer a blend of traditional features, modern amenities and contemporary design. Creating a sense of place and community is a core principle in our approach to development, and is just as carefully considered as the design of the home itself.

In 2005, Country & Metropolitan Homes became part of the Gladedale Group, and in 2007 the company was re-branded as Gladedale. The Group was restructured in 2009, with a return to regional brands including Country & Metropolitan Homes; this restructuring has created a regional business true to our initial values and with company focus at the heart of local communities.
